THE ROLE

As an Assistant Merchandiser, your key responsibilities will be to support the Merchandiser in the smooth running of the department as well as maximising sales opportunity and profit potential whilst minimising markdown spend. You will also have responsibility for daily figure analysis, future sales and range planning, as well as communicating closely with suppliers in line with the critical path.

Your key responsibilities include:

Managing the in season trading of the marketing group by:

  • Use the range plan sign off and marketing group KPI's to effectively manage in season trading
  • Manage option count by store category
  • Support Merchandiser with sales stock and OTB forecasting
  • Management of new and repeat orders
  • Review performance by profit block/key styles
  • Review and manage Line monitors
  • Review under and over performing lines
  • Review and implement markdown and promotional spend
  • Mid week and daily sales availability
  • Undertake ad hoc analysis of performance
  • Complete lessons learnt analysis, End of month, end of quarter, end of half
  • Manage stock flow and stock levels
  • Review actual v planned stock levels on a (minimum) rolling quarterly basis
  • Monitor stock commitment and intake phasing
  • Weekly commitment review
  • Weekly distribution review

IDEAL CANDIDATE

You're behavioural skills

You will need a proactive approach to problem solving, be highly analytical, possess sound commercial acumen and a genuine interest in the fashion retail market. Strong interpersonal skills, flexibility and enthusiasm are also essential to succeed in this role, as is the ability to work to strict deadlines.

  • Manage stock distribution levels in order to minimise over and under stocked stores
