THE ROLE

Working within the Profit Protection strategy you will provide proactive support to retail operations via:

  • Effective management of profit protection operations resources nationally for the UK and Republic of Ireland
  • Effective management of all relevant aspects of business shrinkage across the retail function
  • Promotion and influencing of best practice which effectively protects the profitability across the retail sector of the business
  • Minimising the exposure of staff & customers to the effects of crime and violence
  • Effective consultation and communication at national & regional level on threats and risks to profit and other related events within the Retail area of the business
  • Identification & Implementation of innovative risk/shrinkage reduction initiatives
  • Effectively manage any 3rd party security supplier contracts in place at local level within areas of remit
  • Recruit, coach and develop a positive and proactive National Retail Profit Protection team

IDEAL CANDIDATE

Candidates must be at a similar level as an Area Manager and must have good awareness around security/legal policies and procedures. You must be commercially aware, be able to drive national strategy for profit protection and influence senior people within this business. Most importantly they must have fantastic people skills.

You ideally will be educated to degree level in a relevant subject and have extensive commercial experience, but with a sound knowledge of the criminal justice system and detailed knowledge of criminal investigation. This includes, interviewing techniques and criminal law and rules of evidence, as it applies to a commercial retail environment. You should also have a sound knowledge of business principles and processes specifically relating to retail operations, finance, employee training, HR legislation etc.

It is also desirable to have gained credible, extensive and effective experience and knowledge in a commercial or retail environment, in a management capacity, have a working knowledge of physical retail and security systems, counselling techniques, crisis management and major incident planning ability to influence at high level, constantly displaying demonstrable man-management and leadership skills and qualities.
