THE ROLE
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Regional HR Manager working for one of the most progressive retailers in the UK. The jobholder will be responsible for managing the HR function across a defined region, working with and supporting the Regional Manager to achieve key performance indictors and the smooth operation of the stores under your responsibility.
A key part of the role will be the opportunity to create, manage and deliver the HR strategy and plan, in line with HR strategy and agreed targets to achieve agreed HR performance measures providing a true generalist HR service.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Monitor people management, supporting and working closely with the Regional Manager.
- Manage and analyse monthly Labour Turnover statistics and Exit Interview feedback, identifying issues and recommending appropriate courses of action.
- Compile management information report on a monthly basis, communicating to the Regional Manager and Head Office HR department
- Team reviews and appraisals
- Succession planning, recruitment and selection
- Induction and training
- Build a comprehensive knowledge of the pay, grade and benefits structures, advising the line as appropriate
- Provide advice and guidance to the Regional Manager and Senior Store Management on HR policies and procedures, ensuring they are consistently applied at all times.
- Proactively identify performance issues with the line and recommend a best practice approach, providing support as appropriate
- Supporting HR Advisor on more complex ER cases
- Proactively manage all Long Term Sick cases in line with Company Policy
- Managing and delivering the Resourcing plan to provide high caliber candidates
- Provide expert advice on a case management basis to ensure managers make informed decisions in line with HR best practice
- Add value to the store's bottom line through managing the people side of the business effectively with a commercial edge
- Coach and support management team on ER issues to minimise risks to they business in terms of appeals, grievances and employment tribunals.
- Work in partnership with the Regional Manager to ensure the region achieves all its key performance indicators
- Ensures aware of ongoing needs of the business, liaising with Regional Training in order to produce a comprehensive HR and Training strategy, to be reviewed regularly with the Regional Manager
- Support Regional Managers using coaching techniques, specifically in relation to People Management skills
- Build strong relationships with your peer group and communicate effectively to the operations team
IDEAL CANDIDATE
Experienced HR manager with multi site experience ideally in a retail environment, although this is an opportunity for HR professionals from other disciplines to move in to the retail sector.
