The McCarthy Solution for successful campaign management.
Scenario.
As BP continued to expand its portfolio of dual branded sites incorporating the M&S Simply Food range we were approached as their supplier of choice to manage a recruitment project specifically designed to:-
- Target Management recruitment within each geographical area to 110% of head count
- Recruit, train and retain over 80 new Managers within the business
- Deliver a fast turnaround of these candidates over a 12 week period whilst maintaining existing quality ratios of 1:3
Tasks undertaken.
In order to fully support the project and ensure its success, it was agreed that the McCarthy team would provide the following in addition to our normal service:-

A Senior Manager from the McCarthy team to be seconded in to BP as Project Manager for the duration of the campaign

Advise on and fully support in the delivery of a targeted advertising campaign in conjunction with BP's advertising agency

Fully manage the advertising response, including weekend and late night teams

Provide an additional in-house search and selection campaign utilising McCarthy database, headhunting and referrals

Support with competency training and on-going coaching for Assessing Managers

Candidate assessment centre facilitiation
Activity.
Throughout the campaign the McCarthy team achieved the following:-

McCarthy Project Manager attended and facilitated over 20 assessment days in various locations throughout England and Scotland

Telephone screened over 2000 applicants through telephone hotline response

The entire McCarthy team recruited for the BP project, providing bespoke competency interviews to over 500 applicants who were successful at telephone screen

Identified candidate response levels from each advertisement and consulted with ad agency on where best to allocate remaining funds towards the end of the project to maximise candidate generation
Result.
At the end of a successful project we have surpassed the target of 80 new Managers in the business and proudly hit a success ratio below 1:2.5 throughout the duration of the campaign. We are already working on plans for 2009 and look forward to the challenges and future projects it will no doubt bring.
