The McCarthy 4 STAR Solution for successful campaign management.

Scenario.

Due to a recruitment focus on Store Managers we were asked to provide consultative support for :-

  • A project on recruiting senior external management talent into the brand
  • Launching and managing an advertising campaign for the project
  • Ensuring that candidates were fully pre screened and approved before attending assessment centre in order to streamline the recruitment process

Tasks undertaken.

McCarthy identified the project required :-

  • Time spent within the business understanding operational needs specific to the area and store portfolio
  • Key contacts established to build relationships with external advertising agency
  • Dedicated co-ordinator within McCarthy to liaise with senior operations contacts from Argos, and focus on the project
  • Consultative advice to ensure a successful ad campaign

Activity.

Across the length of the recruitment cycle, McCarthy undertook the following :-

  • Attended a briefing meeting to understand the depth of the project
  • Allocated a resourcing and marketing specialist to co-ordinate the project successfully
  • Marketing contact liaised between the Argos brand & ad agency in order to launch a series of high profile ads within specially chosen media in addition to an on-line advertising campaign
  • Designed a project plan and dateline for the assessment centres
  • Consulted on ad creation, media advice and budget negotiation
  • McCarthy handled full campaign management for advertising response, setting up a dedicated recruitment desk to provide a hotline for the ad related candidates, in addition to running the usual internal methods of candidate sourcing to support the campaign
  • 2 senior McCarthy consultants also attended the assessment days, providing consultative support during the feedback sessions and assisting with the assessment co-ordination & facilitation

Result.

McCarthy delivered a highly successful campaign, fulfilling the needs of the recruitment drive :-

  • 300+ candidates applied through the on-line and offline advertisements
  • McCarthy selected 200 applicants through a quick screen process to go through a comprehensive client based telephone screening
  • 60 candidates were selected to be taken through a competency based interviews process with dedicated McCarthy Recruitment consultants
  • From the 60 candidates interviewed 30 were sent forward to attend assessment days, with 15 from these selected for final interview
  • 10 Store Managers accepted roles in the business
  • Average placement took 5 weeks from the candidate application to offers being made
  • CV sent to candidate placement ratio for the overall process was 1:1.5
